Wow – this is an inspiring poem, Aminat. I absolutely love the way you have painted such a vivid picture of a winter scene. I love the word “jangle” which you have used to describe your teeth jangling together.

  2. Brian Moses says:

    Hi Aminat,
Great effort. Some excellent lines. My favourite is, ‘winter is a season of welcoming Christmas’.
Love the unusual word combinations in ‘jangle’ and ‘lock’ .
Maybe you don’t need both ‘leafless’ and ‘bare’ to describe the trees as they mean the same.
What you take out of a poem is just as important as what you put into it.
    Keep on writing poems,
    Brian Moses

    Aminat,
I’m so proud of you and the success that this poem has brought you with your “Young Writers” certificate award.
I was blown away when you showed me this poem today. Some of the sounds of the words were so thoughtful and the imagery is fabulous. Make sure to take on the advice given to you, particularly by the professional poet who gave you comments!! How exciting.
I hope this is the first of many poems on your blog.

We enjoyed your poem. We thought you used very good descriptive words about winter. It was very interesting. Now we think you should write one about spring, and maybe the weather will respond. Thanks for letting us read your work.
